The SSA’s updated Vocational Experts (VE) Handbook, as of June 2024, is now available for you to access. 📘 This handbook is an essential resource for anyone involved in disability cases, and the latest version includes a few noteworthy changes.

While many of the updates are subtle—like updating the language from "his or her" to "their" and refining some footnotes—there’s a significant new addition that you’ll want to check out. The handbook now includes a section on “isolated occupations,” found on pages 41-42, which references SSA EM24027. This addition provides valuable insights into how these occupations are considered in disability determinations.

Whether you’re deep into case preparation or just staying informed, this updated handbook is a must-read. Be sure to check it out here and keep your practice current with the latest guidelines.
